5th Annual Risk It for the Brisket Cook-Off is set for April 5, 2025, in Downtown Gilmer 

Gilmer, TX – Live Gilmer is thrilled to announce the 5th Annual Risk It for the Brisket Cook-Off, taking place on April 5, 2025, in the heart of downtown Gilmer. This exciting event, sanctioned by the Outlaw Barbeque Association, kicks off at 10:00 AM and promises a day filled with mouth-watering BBQ, live music, and family-friendly activities. 

Headlining this year’s festivities is country music star Braxton Keith, who will take the stage at 8:00 PM, following performances by talented artists including Danny Sharp, Vincent Mason, and Justin Bray. The event is free to attend, with food and beverages available for purchase throughout the day. 

The Risk It for the Brisket Cook-Off is not just a concert; it’s a fierce competition that brings together amateur and professional BBQ enthusiasts. Participants will vie for a 100% cash payout with a minimum total prize pool of $10,000. Competitions include a Chef’s Choice/Jackpot contest on Friday evening before the main event and a competitive kids’ cook-off.
